It was an on-campus interview at an IIT. There was a written round with probability, aptitude, and puzzle questions, plus an algorithm to write, lasting about 1.5 hours. Only 10% got through to the interviews since it's a Day 1 slot and the quality of students is high. There were at least 4 interview rounds. The first two involved puzzles and estimations, while later rounds were technical, covering ML or advanced probability based on the CV. A telephonic round with interviewers in Jersey was also part of the process.

First, you submit your CV. Senior managers review it. If your CV is approved, you take a written test. The test has subjective and objective questions and is a bit harder than CAT. You get 1 hour for it. Then, they consider your CV and test performance to shortlist you for interviews. There are usually 3-4 interview rounds.

Behavioral Technical Case

The interview process was super chill. They picked people based on their resumes from when they visited campus. They really liked seeing stats and machine learning stuff on resumes. There were 3 interviews. The first one was about my resume, like 'walk me through it'. The second one was tough, covering stats, PDEs, and stochastic processes. The last interview was all about case studies. Mine was about figuring out the economic value of a financial instrument using macro parameters.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Can you define Markov Chains and give a real-world example?
  • Could you define Brownian Motion and derive its equation from martingale and Markov chain?
  • How can one use Monte-Carlo simulation for estimating probability distribution function values?
