Analyst
So I got referred in by someone who works there. First, I had a phone screen with a Talent Manager, and then another phone screen with a VP, and those were pretty standard questions about why I wanted to do VC, why software, and why their firm. After that, I talked to a Partner on the phone, and this one was more about my understanding of the software industry in general. Then I got an assignment where I had to pick an interesting company and write a cold email and pitch to the firm why it was interesting. Right before the final round, I had to do an online personality test. The last round was a 'super day' with six 30-minute interviews with Partners and VPs. They told me they hired someone else. It was a really thorough process, but I was bummed they didn't think I was a fit after I put in so much effort.

Financial Analyst
I applied online through the university job board and then had a phone interview. I was a bit confused because I don't have much relevant work experience, so it felt like a waste of time. They mentioned they were looking for a specific skill set that wasn't on my resume.
- How will your experience benefit you in this role?
Associate
The first interview was with a VP, discussing my interest in the position, my background, and B2B SaaS investment theses. Following that, I had a second phone screen with a partner. Most of his questions were similar to the VP's, making the conversation feel quite repetitive. After the second interview, I was informed they would not be proceeding with my application as they had more qualified candidates lined up. I wasn't given any specific reasons why I wasn't considered qualified enough or any feedback on my interviews. The talent manager and EA also consistently referred to the job as an analyst role, despite me being recruited as an associate. Generally, the entire process seemed extremely disorganized and confusing.
- Could you mention any interesting startups within the software industry?
Vice President
I had an unexpected interview with a general partner. It was a peculiar situation because the conversation started from a personalized, cold email that didn't actually mention the role I ended up discussing. The whole thing felt awkward from beginning to end.
- Could you describe your background and professional history?
