- What is your knowledge about Opentrons
Mechanical Test Engineer
It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with some basic behavioral questions about my past experiences and what I did in my previous jobs. Then there were some mechanical engineering questions related to the work, and they also asked why I want to work here.
- What makes you a good candidate for this role?
- Why are you interested in this specific opportunity?
Technical Support Engineer
I had a 30-minute phone screening first. Then, there was a 2.5-hour video interview with five different people, about 30 minutes for each. They asked typical HR questions, and the people were nice. However, it was an overall negative experience because they took over a month to respond with their decision, which was very frustrating.
- Could you describe the process of making your favorite dish?
- How would you describe your approach to time management?
DevOps Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward, though the recruiter was inconsistent about the salary until the very end. The job ad said 150k-190k. First, the recruiter mentioned a range of 140k-170k. I was interested at 170k. After three interview rounds and a meet-and-greet, the recruiter called to offer 160k plus a 10k signing bonus, which I needed to consider. A week later, they made a verbal offer of 150k with no signing bonus, citing experience and benefits. I would have accepted this if it was the initial offer, but the back-and-forth felt like a waste of time.
- Can you describe a time you successfully developed and implemented a release pipeline?
