Product Manager
Worst experience. The interviewer was more interested in verifying my credentials and job titles rather than discussing Product Management. It felt like a waste of time. I gave feedback to HR but I'm unsure if any action will be taken. Avoid this company.
- Are your job titles valid?
- Will there be a background verification?
Product Manager
I had 3 rounds of interview. The 1st one was with HR. The 2nd one was with the VP of product and my Manager. The 3rd round was with peers from the team, like Designers and the Engineering Manager. If needed, there would be a 4th round with your manager and another PM from the same team. In my case, in the 3rd round, the PM had transitioned from a Senior Designer role, so she asked very specific design questions about Android & iOS design systems. I think she didn't have much visibility on what a PM actually does and was asking unrelated questions applicable to designers, not PMs.
- Basic behavioral questions like 'Why Opentext?', 'Why PM?', 'Why are you looking for a job change?'
- Product related questions: 'Explain about a product where you have worked from end to end, what were the processes?'
- 'What was the most challenging product you have worked with & explain what did you learn?'
Product Manager
I was first contacted by their recruitment staff for initial screening, and then a second round was scheduled with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was a new recruit himself, and he seemed not too interested in the process from the get-go. He'd been having network issues, and appeared sort of irritable. Also he made it seem like the internet latency was on my side. Not a very personable individual and had an air or arrogance. It wasn't a great experience, overall.
- Can you share your experience?
- Tell me about a time you had to act under pressure.
- Can you elaborate on a business case?
