Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OpenText.
Solutions Consultant
I went through 4 rounds of interviews. It started with a recruiter call, then I had technical interviews with leaders, then an interview with a VP, and finally a panel interview where they asked me about my motivations and commitment to the department.
- What makes you a good candidate for OpenText?
- Tell me about your motivations for joining this department.
- Are you willing to commit to working in this department?
Solutions Consultant
I was contacted by a recruiter who asked me some pertinent questions about my background. The initial conversation was good, they sounded professional and enthusiastic. Next, I had an interview with the hiring manager. This was a different experience, he seemed uninterested and it was hard to schedule the interview, it felt like I was the one trying to get them interested. Then, I got a rejection email with no explanation. I followed up to ask for feedback, but didn't get a clear answer. The lack of communication and responsibility felt unprofessional and says a lot about the company culture. I won't be applying to OpenText again because of this.
- Can you share your presales experience?
- Describe your background in presales.
Consultant
The process involves a lot of ghosting, showing a lack of respect for applicants. You might get ghosted at any point, and the only feedback is seeing the position reposted. The process can be quick; I had 3 interviews in a week, but then they claimed they were still interviewing. They eventually reposted the job and later told me it was filled. It feels suspicious.
- Can you describe your experience with different programs?
- How would you handle a specific scenario?
