Analyst
So first there was a recruiter call, about 30 minutes, just asking for a general overview and my interest. Then the Hiring Manager called, that was about 45 minutes to an hour, and they asked about my past experience. After that, I had a call with some stakeholders, it was about an hour and they really tested my insurance knowledge and understanding. Finally, I had a session with leadership about conflict resolution and my 'whys'/drive.

Product Manager
First, there was an HR Screening Call (30 minutes) where we chatted generally about my resume, why I wanted the role, and some logistics. Then, I had a Hiring Manager Interview (60 minutes) via video, focusing on my experience and how I'd handle the job's responsibilities, with situational and behavioral questions. Step 3 was a Team Panel Interview (60 minutes) with two team members, covering collaboration and cross-functional work. Finally, I had a Leadership Interview (45 minutes) that was a skip-level chat about the company's direction and the role's contribution to long-term goals.

Software Engineer
It started with a recruiter call to go over my basic info, why I was interested in Openly, and my experience. After that, I was given a take-home assignment in Go. I had plenty of time to write good code, so I took my time and built a mock app as requested. The feedback and questions on the PR for the assignment were minimal and not very helpful, mostly nitpicky things I wouldn't even focus on. After the PR, I was told I wasn't a fit for a senior role and could be a junior if I wanted, which I declined. The whole process felt discriminatory, especially since there wasn't a clear reason for the senior rejection in the PR feedback, and my name/picture were in the git commits.

Senior Backend Engineer
It was a pretty standard interview process, with several phone screens followed by a take-home assignment. The interviewers were all pretty nice. The take-home project wasn't too hard, but it took longer than others I've done. I'd advise not just sticking to the suggested 4 hours for it, but putting in more time to make sure your code is as polished as can be, since that seems to be what they're looking for.
- Can you share an experience where..
- Describe your experience completing a lengthy take-home project.
- What are your career aspirations?
