Customer Success Manager
The interview process included a recruiter screen, then a team member interview, followed by an assignment to create a Customer Success plan for a ChatGPT Enterprise customer with a video presentation. After that, there was a live review of the plan with a team member, and a final round made up of four interviews over two hours. Most interviewers were direct but friendly. The last interviewer, who I think was the hiring manager (though the recruiter never confirmed this despite my asking), felt quite dismissive and uninterested, which was off-putting and left a bad impression. Overall, the process was mostly okay, but it felt very impersonal and lacked genuine engagement, since no one really tried to know me as a person. It seems the company might have built up a kind of detachment because of its reputation, and maybe will be more human in its interactions when reality catches up.

Customer Success Manager
The interview process began with a take-home assignment where you create a Customer Success Plan for ChatGPT Enterprise for the customer’s C-Suite. You’re also asked to record a 7-minute video presenting the plan to the customer. After that, there was an interview with the hiring manager. I didn’t pass that round. From what I understand, there is a final round after that where you do 3–5 interviews back-to-back in one sitting.
- Walk me through your career background so far.
- What does your current book of business look like?
- What is your most strategic account right now and why is it so important?
Customer Success Manager
First step was a pre-recorded presentation of a given task, then a 1:1 with a team member, then 4 back-to-back interviews with other colleagues, each on a different topic (one technical, one on values etc). Some interviewers were engaged and friendly while others clearly didn’t seem interested in talking to me which was offputting. Overall, there was very little small talk and they just fire question after question at you so it feels more like a test than a conversation. The challenge definitely made me better at interviewing overall, but it was a pretty intense process and probably reflects the working culture at OpenAI.
- Which industry do you think would benefit the most from Enterprise ChatGPT?
- How would you explain our technology and what it can bring?
