Behavioral Case

I got screened by the recruiter who said this was a top priority position for them to fill. The screen went fine and she said she wanted to move me to the next round. Then she ghosted me for a month. After that she gave me a homework assignment. Then ghosted again. Eventually I had two interviews. Neither person had looked at the assignment I did, and both told me that. The first interview went really well. In the second interview, I got the feeling in the first few minutes that the person didn’t want me to be hired and was just going through the motions.

Was very nice, but also very hard at the same time. You really need to prepare a lot for this one if you want to suceed. Great company and great people. AI is the future and OpenAI will be the leader.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Group Other

(1) Phone screen, (2) Mini project and review with an AE, (3) Virtual onsite (4 B2B interviews - 3 with mostly boilerplate interview questions and 1 more technically focused). The hiring manager seemed disinterested in the interview, reading off boilerplate interview questions and not really trying to get to know the person who might work on their team. It felt like she had already made her decision and just wanted to get it over with. Overall, the vibe I got from OpenAI is that they're too busy for you. They've got a chip on their shoulders because of who they are. Little details made this obvious to me. For example, multiple interviewers asked the same boilerplate questions, interviewers seemed to have no context on prior interviews and info gathered (so I was constantly repeating myself), and there lacked a desire to get to know you – more of a desire to get through the interview and on to the next.
