First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Open Arms of Minnesota.
Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
I had one phone interview. They made a really low offer and kept asking if I was okay with it, even though it meant I'd be taking a pay cut. Their questions made me think it wasn't a good place to work. After the interview, they totally ghosted me, which was annoying.
- How do you deal with super stressful work environments?
- Is the pay offer acceptable to you?
Community Manager
The first interview was really thorough, lasting about an hour. They asked some direct questions about my previous work experience and how it would fit with the role at Open Arms. The people were really nice.
- How can we boost awareness of Open Arms, and what's your marketing approach?
Barista
it was very brief and i wasn't impressed by their ability to describe the job, so it wasnt a great interview. i will not be applying for another position at this business
- Can you tell me about your experience for this role?
Coordinator
First, there was a phone screening with HR to get a general sense of who you are and your experience. Then, you had an interview with the HR/Hiring Manager(s) where you had to go into more detail about your experience and answer hypothetical situations. Finally, you might have shadowed or observed a shift and met some colleagues.
- How would you de-escalate a situation with a difficult volunteer or client?
