For two positions I applied for, the interview process involved either a take-home assignment given a week before, or one provided just an hour before the interview. Following that, there was a round with about 4-6 questions. These questions were designed to gauge my experience, understanding of the role's responsibilities and required competencies, how I've dealt with issues, the nature of work I've performed, and my knowledge of company policies.

The selection process involved resume screening followed by a 40 minute face to face interview with three panel members (5 questions), as well as two half-hour tests (computer skill testing and prioritization exercise requiring knowledge of government decision-making process and administrative protocols). Successful candidate was also submitted to a detailed reference check and security screening.

I sent in my application. Then it was reviewed. I had to get my health and eyes checked and get certified in First Aid & CPR. After that, I went to a local testing center for scenario analysis and a written entrance exam. Then, the training center at Bell Cairn near Hamilton contacted me with a start date for a 7-week corrections training course.
