First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Onset Financial.
Account Executive
after your phone screening, they have you waste your time with two members of HR before you can potentially interview with someone in their sales department. The whole vibe is about trying to disqualify people, they never sold me on the company and they lie about the job to get applicants, it's not a closing position, you are setting for your manager, it's an SDR position. They also put an entire sales team on a pip recently.
- Would you be alright with not earning any commission during your initial six months?
Facility Manager
The recruiter was late to the interview but was nice and called me personally to let me know I didn't get the job. I was asked to research the company and CEO beforehand, which seemed reasonable, but the company's website gave off cult-like vibes, and the CEO's bio was a lengthy read. I felt the role was asking for a lot for the pay offered. The rating system is a thumbs up or down, which I don't like; I'd prefer stars. Overall, the interview was fine.
- Tell me about what you discovered regarding our CEO.
Executive Assistant
Upon arriving at Onset, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, setting a positive first impression. The lobby's atmosphere confirmed the company culture described online. After a brief wait in a conference room, I watched a video about Onset, which heightened my excitement to meet the CEO, Justin Nielsen. His genuine care for the company was evident in the video. The subsequent interview with Justin felt like a natural conversation, leading to a mutual understanding that Onset was a great fit. I was particularly impressed by the company's emphasis on values, appreciation, and strong leadership in the financial industry.
- Were you confident, direct, positive, and ready to work hard?
Marketing Specialist
The interview process is pretty quick and feels personal. Recruiters are great at keeping you updated quickly. They'll call you personally to give you updates and schedule more interviews. They're nice and helpful, making it as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
