Senior AI Engineer
The interview covered Python DSA, including linked lists and finding the second highest element in a 2D list. There were also basic SQL theory questions and a problem to solve, along with ML concepts like gradient and activation functions, and general AI concepts.
- Tell me about linked lists in Python.
- How do you find the second highest element in a 2D list using Python?
- Can you explain some basic theory about SQL?
Associate Engineer
They started with a written test covering Python and SQL, where I had to solve 2 Python and 2 SQL problems and write one mandatory program for each. Then there was a technical interview focusing on SQL, Python, and basic Data Structures and Algorithms. After that, a combined technical and managerial interview, followed by an HR interview.
- Questions on SQL Basics, Joins, and the output of a given query.
- Questions on Python Basics, and writing programs to reverse a string and check for palindrome.
Deployment Engineer
I interviewed with several people over several months and had to constantly check back in, it was very disorganized. The interviews themselves were fine and it was nice getting to meet people from multiple areas of the company. I accepted a verbal offer and my future boss was ordering my equipment for when I started. Everything was fine. Just waiting on finance people to finish a meeting then would get me my official offer paperwork. Never heard back. Sent several emails. Completely ghosted with no reasoning. Good reminder to never turn in notice no matter how many times someone says it's a done deal. Incredibly unprofessional and am blown away that a company would act like this.
- Tell me about the methods and software you've used for migrations.
- What kind of scale migrations have you done?
- Let's talk shop about migrations, given your experience.
Cloud Engineer
This was one of the best interview processes! It started with a 30-min video call with a technical recruiter to discuss the role, requirements, team, company culture, and compensation, with plenty of time for questions. Next, a 60-min video call with the hiring manager went into more detail about the role, my technical skills, and job requirements. I was really impressed by the hiring manager - the kind of person you'd want to work for! They also allocated a lot of time for Q&A. The third interview, a 60-min video call, was a deep dive into my technical skills. Although it was meant to be a hands-on coding exercise, the interviewer, impressed by my StackOverflow and GitHub contributions, opted for design questions about solutions I've built instead of live coding. This was super refreshing, and the interviewer was incredibly knowledgeable about data and cloud. The fourth interview, also 60 mins via video, focused on architecture and systems design. It felt more like a conversational exploration of my thought process rather than a whiteboard session. It was an incredible experience. That was it, and I received an offer! I haven't decided yet, but the potential to work with such brilliant people and the strong mentorship opportunities are big draws.
- Tell me about your preferred public cloud provider and the reasons behind your choice.
- Could you list some database technologies you have experience with?
- Among the database technologies you've used, which one do you favor, and why?
