It was a phone call with a young recruiter who made it very clear she was the gatekeeper. She said it went well and promised to move forward, but then there was no follow-up or update. It felt like a power play. They wanted focus on full AWS with full scale take outs only, no Hybrid, no one bite at a time, starting with Data Protection. This became a deal breaker for me because I don't think any company is willing to commit to all in Public Cloud from the start, and I felt it might end in disappointment and sunk costs for customers when they hit a roadblock.

Had a recruiter phone screen that went well, and was told they need to fill this role quickly. Then got scheduled for a second phone interview and was told to sell myself. I wasn't thrilled about that part, but okay. The interview was supposed to start, but I got an email asking to reschedule with no warning or apology. I was cool with rescheduling. Two days later, I had a 15-minute call with the CEO that ended up being 30 minutes, again, no respect for my time. They said the recruiter would follow up, but it's been 3 weeks with no contact. It's weird because they kept saying how important the candidate's experience is, but they couldn't even manage basic communication. These little things added up, and I wanted to withdraw anyway. It's a shame because they talk about valuing people, but their actions don't match.

So first I got a call from the recruiter, then I had a phone screen to talk about my background, then I received a call for the next round with the director. It was like for 15 minutes and asked me about the technical difficulties I faced and how do you perform in time constrained environments ? I though I cracked the interview but I received an email saying that I was not selected. Tip - You have to be familiar with AWS and you will have good chances if you have work experience.

The recruiter Brandi reached out to me about the process. I was put in touch with several leaders of the company. Then I met with the sales leader on site. After that, I was flown to Santa Monica for an onsite meeting. This was one of the most positive interviewing experiences I have ever had. The recruiter, Brandi, was just amazing. Probably the best recruiter I have ever worked with.
