First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oneupweb.
Director
There were two rounds of interviews. The first was with my future manager to check my experience and knowledge. The second was with the CEO to see if I would be a good fit, with more personality-type questions. Pretty standard stuff.
- Can you describe your work style?
- What types of people do you enjoy collaborating with?
- What are your expectations for a role at Oneupweb?
SEO Specialist
I had a video call with the CEO and then a panel interview with the team. The interviewers were nice, but they expect you to move to Traverse City, even though the job description says they will "consider" remote candidates and lists the job as REMOTE on Indeed. The company also never followed up with a proper rejection after an hour of interviewing and just ghosted me which I believe is super unprofessional.
- Do you have any SEO experience?
Project Manager
I had a quick call with HR who were responsive and set up an interview. They were really nice, friendly, and seemed really into it, which made me feel optimistic. The interview day kicked off with a tour and meeting the department supervisor. That part felt like a standard interview and went fine. Then, the company owner came in and started asking some really confusing and odd questions that didn't seem to have a clear point. She didn't seem happy with my responses at all.
- Could you explain your motivation for applying for this role?
PPC Project Manager
HR reached out on LinkedIn and we had a 40 min phone chat. Then I did an ad writing assignment. The next day I went in for an interview with HR and the CEO. The CEO really challenged me, asking why I hadn't pursued them sooner and questioning my PPC expertise due to my current broad responsibilities. Despite the tough questioning, the office environment and staff seemed great. I'm rethinking my decision if I get an offer.
- Why didn't you come searching for us?
- Why haven't you pursued us earlier in your career?
- Given your diverse responsibilities, are you truly an expert in PPC?
