First, a screening call with the recruiter. Then, a call with the Area Manager. After that, another call with the Area Manager. Finally, a panel presentation where I had to present myself and why they should hire me for 5 mins, then explain the value prop for OneSpan for 20 mins, and share how I would position OneSpan into a vertical outside of Banking for 10 mins, followed by Q&A. The whole thing was 45 minutes.

The interview process was ok overall. At the beginning, I received a lot of details about the role and the company overall so I had everything I needed to prepare for each step. I had 3 interviews: 1st with the recruitment team, 2nd with the hiring manager, and 3rd with another manager from upper level. After the 3rd interview, I received a blunt email after I did the follow up saying that we will not be moving forward, no reason or a more comprehensive feedback. At this stage, given the fact that in the beginning I received a lot of details, I was expecting at least a few lines of what I did wrong.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started out really well and felt positive. I was seen as the top candidate, and the final round was approaching, after which they'd make the final choice. They were aware of my salary expectations from the start, but just before the last stage, they asked me to confirm them again. I did, and also mentioned that I was willing to be flexible since I knew they couldn't match everything. I also let them know about another offer I had. A few days later, they said I was too senior for the role, which confused me since I was the preferred candidate and heading into the final round. They based this on my salary, which they knew initially, and the fact I had another offer. I tried reaching out but heard nothing back. I was really perplexed because I liked the company and was eager to join, even wanting to discuss what I was willing to compromise on. Still no response. So, after some very good interviews, their strange decision, lack of willingness to discuss, and unprofessional silence, I'm actually glad it didn't work out. If this is their company culture, I'm sure mediocrity is the norm.
