Technical Behavioral Presentation

The interview process at this company is extremely long and arduous. After successfully clearing 7 rounds, I was ultimately rejected in the 8th round for not being a "good cultural fit." It's unrealistic to expect a candidate to maintain the same level of enthusiasm and zeal after 4-5 rounds. If someone has passed all the technical, cross-functional, and hiring manager rounds, how can they be rejected on the basis of cultural fit in the end? Isn't the cross-functional round supposed to assess cultural fit as well? The "cultural fit" round itself felt vague and unstructured. Questions like "What does your day as an analytics engineer look like?" don't adequately assess a candidate's true potential. Additionally, I was not given the extra 5 minutes I requested to clarify my questions during the interview, which felt rushed and unfair. Having an 8-9 round interview process is a significant red flag. It is overly exhaustive and indicates a lack of efficiency and respect for the candidate's time. If a candidate clears 7 rounds, they deserve a fair and transparent final round, not rejection based on vague criteria. This experience was highly frustrating and disappointing. Advice to Management: Streamline the interview process to make it more efficient and respectful of candidates' time. Allow candidates adequate time during interviews to clarify their thoughts and questions. Recognize the effort and potential of candidates who have successfully navigated through multiple rounds before making a final decision. Overall, this interview experience was disheartening and reflected poorly on the company's hiring practices. And please, give proper feedback. A candidate deserves a feedback after 8 rounds.

Behavioral Technical

The hiring manager was late to the interview. When they started, they asked me to talk about my experience as it related to the job. But as I was answering, they cut me off and then asked the exact same question over and over. It was super weird and honestly one of the worst interview experiences I've had. Maybe they should hire people who are better at talking to others for interviews? Or at least make sure the questions they ask actually match the job description. Basically, the hiring manager was really rude and just kept asking about dbt, ignoring all the other qualifications listed.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I applied online and a recruiter got in touch to set up the first interview. This first round was with the hiring manager in the US. She asked me about my experience, skills, and how I'd handled and navigated different situations in my previous data engineering roles. After that initial screening, I had a proctored SQL online assessment. The proctor asked some questions about SQL, like constraints and joins, and I had to write queries for given problems. The questions seemed straightforward but were actually quite tricky. I struggled to link the questions to the expected output and it took me a long time. There was a time limit for each question, but I couldn't get the right output and was rejected.
