So I applied for this job and their ADP page said they were looking to pay $69k-$87k, but I put $90k in my application hoping they'd negotiate. They did an initial screening call, and the interviewer seemed nice. At the end, she asked if $90k was correct for my salary expectation, and I said yes. She said 'good to know.' Then I moved on to a second and third interview. I prepped a lot for these, they both went well, and I felt good about them. The employees were friendly, and it seems like a cool work environment. About a week later, they called with an offer at $70k, which was the low end of their range, even though I'd made my $90k expectation clear on my application and in the first interview. I've been working professionally for about 10 years without being let go. I countered with $85k. They came back with a new offer of $75k plus a $5k sign-on bonus. I told them this was less than I'm currently making and countered again at $80k with no bonus. They also mentioned a 10% performance bonus, so I figured I'd go down a bit hoping they'd meet me in the middle. OneAZ still declined and said they wouldn't go above $75k. We hit an impasse, and I ended up declining their offer because of the salary.

It was a 2 part interview where I met with different levels of management. The job posting was for customer service, but they're really looking for a sales manager. There's a lot undefined, and it seems like they're unsure of their direction, bouncing between digital sales and phone sales without a clear plan. The process felt disorganized, which might reflect the company's operations overall. The people were nice, though. They also sent communication and management style quizzes. The pay is average to below average.

The recruitment process started with an online application that took over an hour to complete, even though there was a recruiter involved and an interview was scheduled. The interview was directly with the hiring manager, so no pre-interview with HR was needed. The office location was convenient, situated right off I-17 at Pinnacle Peak, just north of the 101. The environment seemed somewhat formal, with most men wearing long-sleeved shirts, though ties and jackets weren't required. A second interview wasn't necessary, but there was a several-day waiting period for a decision, likely because they wanted to interview all candidates who passed the initial screening.

They did a telephone interview, a short 15-20 minute pre-screen before a potential face to face. The interview was simple and flowed smoothly. I was told I would hear an update by the end of the following week. Two weeks later, with no update, I reached out to check status and was told they were moving forward with other candidates. Please be aware that instead of being professional and informing a candidate that they aren’t moving forward in the process, they prefer to “ghost” people and will leave you in the dark wondering for weeks. Truly disappointed in such an unprofessional and quite frankly, cowardly approach. If you don’t hear back, don’t be surprised and don’t hold your breath. Avoiding difficult conversations and situations seems to be the OneAZ approach.
