Account Manager
I applied for the role directly through their career page. The company was restructuring, so the position was re-listed and I applied again. It took about three weeks to hear back for an initial interview with a recruiter. That interview was positive and they asked a mix of behavioral and creative personal questions, and the conversation flowed really well. I was quickly moved forward to meet with the hiring manager. That interview was also positive; we had a great conversation. However, by the time I interviewed, the role had already been posted for well over 30+ days, which I brought up during the discussion. They explained the restructure but reassured me that they were looking to hire immediately. After my second interview, I received a thoughtful email from the hiring manager — not just a generic 'nice to meet you' response — which initially made me feel optimistic. They mentioned that the process was taking longer due to travel but assured me they would stay in touch and thanked me for my patience. Over the next month, communication was extremely slow. After a week, I heard nothing. After two weeks, I followed up and received a reply stating the process was still ongoing, but they hoped to have decisions made by the end of the following week. Then, silence again for nearly another month, until I finally received a rejection email from the recruiter. The final rejection email felt templated — it didn't acknowledge anything specific from our conversations and seemed to have been sent to multiple candidates at once. Overall, I was left feeling that I had been dragged along and "kept on ice" while other candidates were prioritized. In hindsight, it doesn't seem like I was seriously considered beyond the initial conversations, despite positive feedback early on. The interviews themselves were enjoyable, but the lack of timely communication and transparency around their hiring timeline made for a frustrating and disappointing experience.

Web Developer
The first part of the interview was with someone who seemed uninterested in me. They mostly talked about the company's work, and I got to ask a few questions. They didn't ask me anything about myself or my technical skills. Then, another person joined via conference call and wanted me to code a PSD design within 30 minutes, specifically using 'slicing,' which is an old technique I haven't used much. They gave me a MacBook I wasn't familiar with, so I spent the first 5 minutes figuring out the software. I ended up coding some elements without slicing, and they stopped the timer and ended the interview. It seems like they're looking for developers who can quickly create HTML templates for automotive marketing. If you like slicing PSDs, it might be a good fit. They didn't seem interested in me as a person, which made me okay with moving on.

Business Analyst
I had an in-person interview with three people, two of whom were physically present and one on the phone. It was an hour and 15 minutes long. The role is for a BA on two projects, one waterfall and one they call "agile", though I think it's really just waterfall with iterative releases. They explained the company structure and their new open-concept office. Then they asked questions. My read is that they aren't truly agile despite using user stories and sprints; they're missing the core objective of building high-performing teams and have too much PM oversight, which hinders team growth and autonomy. They stated PMs are responsible for project success, which in agile should be a team responsibility. Having PMs act as 'scrum masters' is a red flag. They also mentioned being very busy, suggesting understaffing or poor resource management, which goes against the agile goal of delivering more value with less development. They ultimately said they wanted someone with more web-based, from-scratch build experience and testing experience. I have 10 years of experience building apps from scratch and believe the approach should be platform-agnostic, focusing on user needs regardless of the build method. In agile, testing is a team responsibility, not just a QA function.

- Can you describe your experience writing user stories?
Account Coordinator
Had an initial 10-minute chat with recruiting to see if I was a good match. Then, a 45-minute interview with Account Managers. It was a casual chat with really nice people where we talked about my past work, my interest in the creative field, and why I'm keen on One10. Following that, I had another 45-minute, also casual, interview with a Senior Account Supervisor and a team associate. I really enjoyed the whole interview experience.
- Could you walk me through your background?
- What draws you to creative work within a marketing agency?
- Have you ever been involved in creating creative briefs or content?
