First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at One Drop.
Program Manager
The onsite interview was pretty streamlined and involved a mix of technical questions (around 70%) and culture (30%). The interviewers were all professional and prepared. The recruiter was prompt with their responses and proactive with their follow up.
- Tell me about your most significant accomplishment in your prior position.
Engineering Manager
It was a really professional process. The interviewers were sharp and really listened, and they gave good answers to my questions. I met with people I might work with. HR was nice and responsive, and professional too.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult situation.
Full Stack Developer
Had an initial call with HR, followed by a coding assignment using React. Then, I spoke with team members from top to bottom. The final interviews were conducted in an "on-site" format, though they took place over Zoom.
- Were any basic Javascript questions asked that are easily found online?
Software Engineer
First, a recruiter reached out and we set up a phone call. Then, I had a Zoom meeting with the engineering SVP. After that, I was given a coding assignment to finish within a week. Finally, they sent an email saying I didn't get the job. It felt unprofessional not to give a reason, especially since they asked me to use my free time for a challenge. I'm not a fan of companies that don't respect candidates' time.
- A very common take home challenge was given.
