The interview process was standard and quick. It started with an HR screening, followed by a one-to-one interview. It seems the company is going through some restructuring and rebuilding teams that were previously made redundant earlier in the year.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online and had an initial chat with HR. Then I met with four senior staff members and had a really good discussion about their high hopes for me and the role. After that, I met with two junior staffers who would report to me. One of them, who was temporarily leading the team, acted like a total brat and even had a tantrum, telling me I was wrong about everything despite my 20 years of experience. The other junior staffer, who was remote, seemed embarrassed by the situation. I thought about it and decided to decline the offer. Later, I actually interviewed the person who ended up taking the job for a different role at another organization; they only lasted six months.

Behavioral Technical Other

After I applied, I had a surprise phone call for a pre-interview, in English and French. I had to talk about why I want the job and my skills. Then, I had a 3-hour written test. It had a part where I had to summarize something in English, another part analyzing data in a table, and I had to write a letter to people running for president. I didn't hear back for three weeks, so I had to chase ONE France for an answer, which was no, I didn't get the final interview. The whole hiring process is really long and hard. I felt like they didn't really care about us candidates because they didn't keep us updated quickly.

Behavioral Other

I had a really bad experience with this interview process. They weren't upfront about things, and during a panel interview, I felt pressured to share personal stuff like my religion, which had nothing to do with the job. I think asking about someone's background in Canada might even be illegal. For a company that talks about making a difference and being inclusive, they should really look at their own biases and how they operate.
