Risk Analyst
Got approached by an external recruiter on LinkedIn about a Risk Analyst role. The first step was an HR call to discuss my background and get an overview of the company and team, which was really informative. Next, I spoke with the hiring director about my past modeling experience, which wasn't too technical. Then, I went to the Arlington office for an onsite interview where I met four people. It was a welcoming environment. This round included a case study, some modeling skills questions, and questions about my past experience. The final stage was a data challenge involving SQL and Python. After waiting for about two months and almost losing hope as the role seemed to be filled, HR contacted me again about a similar analyst position on a different team. Following a conversation with the VP, I accepted the offer.
- Could you share your motivations for wanting to join OnDeck?
- Describe your approach to benchmarking a small business loan.
- What areas are you looking to develop professionally in the near term, and what steps are you currently taking to achieve that growth?

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. After 3 weeks of my final round HR didnt even have the courtesy to respond to my emails asking about their decision, still have no idea if they rejected me or gave me an offer, have since accepted an offer elsewhere. This place is a joke. 2 Phone screens, 4 hour project, 6 rounds in person
- Tell me about your passion for credit.
Risk Analyst
Very casual and unprofessional interview process. If you send someone an assignment that takes 2 hours of their time, the least you can do is respond when they finish and submit it. I sent multiple follow-ups after completing the assignment, but never heard back for over two months. I get that recruiting can be busy, but if you can't even send a one-line reply to four emails, maybe it's time to find a new job.
- The first step is to solve an analytics assignment where you are sent a dataset with loans and information like fico, initial loan amount, and days delinquent, and the problem is to create a markov chain of probability of loans moving from one 'days delinquent bucket' to another, with 2-3 business days to solve and submit, although you'll likely not hear back.
