Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OnDeck.
Analyst
I had two phone chats. The recruiter call was good because they asked relevant stuff. The recruiter was fast and set me up with the manager for a call that same week. The manager call was okay, they mostly talked. They said good things about moving forward. I reached out 2 days later, no reply. I tried two more times 1-2 weeks later and still nothing. Even bad news should be communicated.
- Can you describe a typical day in your current role?
Analyst
Applied online. The first two rounds went well, followed by an on-site interview. Although they arranged airport pickup, no one showed up. They said I'd be reimbursed if I provided receipts, but that didn't happen. The employees I met didn't seem very engaged with their jobs or the interview. This 'shadow banking' business also doesn't seem like it will last long.
- What would be the most exciting thing for you after one year in this role?
Analyst
I had a phone call with an external recruitment company, and then an in-person interview with two people from inside the company. The interview ran overtime because they tried to fit in interview questions and a case study into one hour. They didn't manage the interview process very well, so it felt rushed.
- What constitutes good customer service, and can you share an instance where you encountered it?
