First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ONCOR.
Intern
I had one in-person interview that lasted 30 minutes with one interviewer. They asked me about 10 questions, including one simple technical question. The interview was very straightforward and friendly.
- Can you share an instance when you got feedback?
- Tell me about a simple technical question you were asked.
Engineering Intern
So they just asked me about my engineering experience and my interests. We also talked about how the power grid works and what the company does, like how they distribute power to homes and communities.
- Can you discuss some of the projects you have undertaken?
- Tell me about your engineering experiences and what you are interested in.
- Describe how the power grid operates.
Engineer
I had two interviews, each lasting an hour, and met with three managers in each. The process was actually pretty enjoyable and interactive. They focused mainly on behavioral questions, with just a couple of technical ones and one that tested my thinking process.
- What's your proudest accomplishment?
- Tell me about a time you had to overcome a technical challenge.
- Walk me through how you approach solving a problem.
Engineering Intern
It was an on campus interview. They basically asked me about how I would handle certain situations and regular interview questions. They didn't ask me any technical question which I was surprised about. I had 2 people interview me and both were really quite and asking questions off of a paper, not really having a conversation with you or anything.
- Can you tell me about a time you were innovative?
