I had an HR interview that lasted about half an hour. After that, I had a technical interview with the manager, which took about an hour. The project manager asked both technical and behavioral questions. It was an average interview overall.

I arrived after being referred by a colleague. They treated me great the whole time, the team is very attentive and respectful. I had the first interview with someone from Talent Acquisition (who then accompanied me throughout the process). They told me general information about the company, this specific search, and we chatted a bit about my experience, interests, and goals. Two days later, an engineering director interviewed me. It was a more technical chat. I cleared up all my doubts about how they approach problems, what the upcoming challenges are, and where the team is growing. We delved into my knowledge and they presented me with a simple problem to solve and then add complexity. Very clear and pleasant. The last interview was a few days later with an architect and a developer. We also chatted about how work is done at the company and they asked me quite a few questions about Python and computing/systems in general. There was no challenge or whiteboard. A few days later they made me an offer and we moved forward with the documentation and pre-employment checks. I think it took about two weeks in total. Very good experience.

Behavioral Technical

A recruiter from Onapsis contacted me on LinkedIn because I had the beacon feature on. She liked my profile and resume, saying it was impressive and a good fit. I discussed my current pay to ensure we were in the same range, as the new role is a lower tier of support but in SAP, a new technology for me, with potentially demanding high-end clients. I felt it could still be challenging and I could contribute to their startup phase. I had a phone interview with the direct manager, who was pleasant and easy to talk to. He was recently promoted from a Technical Support Engineer role, reinforcing the idea that they value internal growth and can adapt roles to employee strengths. Following the positive phone interview, the recruiter scheduled an in-person interview. The day started at 9:00 am with Product Management, followed by a Tech Support Engineer in Europe at 9:30 am for technical questions. At 10:00 am, I met the Director of Account Management, then the Manager of Tech Support at 10:45 am. Two remote Tech Support Engineers joined at 11:45 am for more technical questions, and finally, two local Tech Support Engineers at 12:15 pm. I felt all these interviews went well, with a focus on team fit and customer service rather than overly technical questions. I really liked everyone and felt I'd bond with the support team quickly. The process hit a snag when the recruiter mentioned HR wanted to meet at 1 pm, which wasn't on the original schedule. I waited, and the recruiter returned with lunch, apologizing for the delay and asking me to wait until 2 pm. At 2 pm, HR was late again. Finally, around 2:10 pm, HR met with me. I found this unannounced, unplanned meeting, coupled with extreme lateness and a lack of sincere apology, to be unprofessional and a red flag, especially considering my time was unpaid while theirs was. Despite the HR person's tardiness, I remained open-minded and positive. The HR interview started well, focusing on my work history. However, she repeatedly asked why I left previous jobs, making me feel she was suspicious and trying to catch me in a lie. I sensed she thought I was too good to be true and was trying to prove I was a scammer. This was the worst HR interview I've experienced, despite my strong credit score, willingness of a previous employer to rehire me for more money, and excellent references. I decided I wouldn't work for a company with such an HR department. While I don't know what raised a red flag for them, it didn't justify the unprofessional tardiness and lack of manners. Overall, it was a great set of interviews until the HR part. I later called the recruiter to withdraw my application, wishing the company well.

Behavioral Technical

My experience with the recruitment process at the company was not great. I went through interview stages with the recruiter, manager, and CTO. I noticed a lot of inconsistencies and a lack of transparency. For example, it was unclear where the company operates from, which was confusing. I also had trouble getting details about the job offer. They didn't give a straight answer about the salary for the Senior Recruiter role and avoided talking about the benefits. This lack of open communication about important job details makes me question how open they are as a workplace. Also, the information about work arrangements was all over the place. Each person I spoke to had a different idea about whether it's hybrid, on-site, remote, or if you need to be in the office sometimes. These differences were confusing and showed that the leadership isn't on the same page about the work environment. Overall, the company lacked clear communication, consistency, and transparency, which are really important for attracting good people. I hope they improve how they interact with candidates and communicate better to create a more respectful environment for potential employees.
