A few days after applying on the OnQ HR website, I had a 30-minute phone chat with the VP about my skills and the job functions. A week later, another manager called to do a culture fit interview, checking what kind of culture I like and how I'd fit with the team. Another week passed, and I got an invite for an in-person team interview where I talked about myself professionally and personally and answered the team's questions. It felt really comfortable.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

This interview felt more like an interrogation, with my words being twisted. Halfway through, the CEO pointed out supposed misspellings in my "Resume." I clarified that it wasn't my resume, but they continued to shame me for the next thirty minutes. Despite my repeated statements that I hadn't even sent my resume to the recruiter, they persisted in their disbelief. The whole experience was humiliating, embarrassing, and utterly unprofessional. Shockingly, they still wanted to proceed with hiring, but I declined. It's astonishing that professionals would treat a potential employee this way. The CEO was incredibly disrespectful, greeting me with a donut in his mouth and texting throughout. He berated me while I answered questions. I'm warning you to avoid this toxic environment. At least their true colors showed during the interview, not after I might have been hired.

I applied online and HR contacted me a few days later for an interview, which went really well because my experience matched the job. The next day, I had a second interview that also went well. Later that evening, they emailed me to complete a skills and personality assessment. The skills assessment questions were odd and not really relevant, and you'd pretty much need Google to answer them. After the assessment, I got a call for a third interview with the hiring manager and someone who seemed like an HR/psychologist. It was awkward and uncomfortable, and their questioning felt like they were looking for problems with me. Despite the weirdness, things seemed to go okay. But after that, I never heard back, which I found unprofessional given the rigorous process. A year and a half later, a recruiter contacted me about another opportunity.

I was interviewed in 2016 for an internship in the video department. I sat down with the CEO of the company, who asked a number of questions, but was on his phone for a good portion of the interview. I was later asked what I thought about Donald Trump’s candidacy and whether I went to church, which made me very uncomfortable (I was 18 at the time). I was given a very lowball offer and later freelanced with them making a fair bit more money.
