First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Omya.
Sales Representative
The interview process was very professional. They flew me out to the corporate headquarters and provided a hotel and per diem (food). They also gave me a schedule with who I would be meeting. Everyone was extremely welcoming, informative, and genuinely excited to see how I could improve the company.
- What's an area you've identified for self-improvement?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process took a long time, almost a month, and wasn't very transparent. They seem to treat candidates as disposable options. There's a 360-degree verification process. It feels like an organization run by incompetent people with a high turnover rate, and most of the old staff have probably left. I also got the impression that the entire organization is micromanaged.
- They ask irrelevant questions to test your loyalty.
Customer Service Support
The hiring process had two interviews: the first was with HR, and the second was an in-person meeting with the Head of Customer Support and the Team Leader. They communicated clearly and on time. However, in the final interview, it felt like the decision might have already been made for another candidate. The interview was rushed, lasting only 20 minutes even though it was scheduled for an hour, and they didn't show much interest in my background or what I could bring to the team.
- What are your expectations from a manager?
- What's the ideal strength for a coworker?
- What would be the company's loss if they didn't hire you?
Supply Chain Systems & Process Coordinator
The process started with me illustrating my milestones. Then, the HR manager took over and asked me two questions, which I managed to answer. After that, the head of department joined. Unfortunately, a negative impression was formed about my personality right away, with the claim that I lacked balance. The head of department was unable to clarify what 'balance' meant to me and was unwilling to explain it. It's quite disappointing when people form judgments based on prejudice without making an effort to get to know someone personally.
- What are your career aspirations for the next three years?
