Communications and Sales Assistant
RUN AND STAY FAR AWAY. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. The initial interview had me and another candidate interviewing at the same time. After that, I was called back for an 'on-site' interview and a test run. They made it sound like it would be a real communications position where I'd meet clients and potential customers. But, this 'site' turned out to be a Best Buy way out in Miami, even though their office is in downtown Fort Lauderdale. To make it worse, they didn't tell me where the site visit would be or what to wear beforehand. I thought the employee I was with would either lead the way or have me follow him in my own car. But no, I had to drive both of us all the way to Miami, which made me a bit uneasy since I didn't know him well. When we got to Best Buy, I still expected to meet managers or executives. Nope, not at all. Instead, I had to watch the employee I was with 'work on-site.' His job was to be one of those people inside Best Buy trying to get customers to sign up for Comcast using tablets. It was awful watching how persistently annoying he was to shoppers. After about 2 hours of standing in heels (and being in pain), I was desperately trying to figure out how to leave. When it was finally over, I didn't take the Omnifortuna employee back to their office, and I didn't even go back for their follow-up questions about the visit.
- Please do not waste your time applying to Omnifortuna or their sister company MarketStorm Global, which is in the same office. About 90% of their employees are currently in college or are recent graduates. They specifically target these individuals because they know they are looking for entry-level positions in related fields, just like I was at the time.
Event Marketing Assistant
This is a sales role where you'll be selling cable subscriptions at retail locations like Target. While they might mention base pay and commission on the phone, the owner clarified it's commission-only, at least for the upcoming holiday season. You'll interview with the owner, Ryan, who's a driven and successful entrepreneur. However, his interviewing style is very 'salesy' – he talks incredibly fast, bombarding you with information, making it hard to keep up or ask your own questions. He uses sales tactics to impress, which is effective for clients but intense for an interview. I believe the company has good leadership and credibility, but it wasn't the right fit for me.
- Can you tell me about your experience in managing or leading teams?
System Administrator
I applied online. The whole thing took about 2 days. I interviewed at Omnifortuna,Inc back in July 2016. There were three parts to it. First was a one-on-one chat with the managing director. If they called me back for the second round, I got to shadow the execs and see what the office, clients, and campaigns were like. The last part was sitting down with the managing director again to ask anything I wanted before taking the job.
- Could you tell me about your hobbies and interests?
Sales Associate
The interview experience was great, the interviewer made me feel comfortable. They asked questions about my experience and future goals. The interviewer was upfront about the company and role, and answered my questions well. I knew from the start that the job required long hours and was 100% commission until assistant manager. Because I enjoy challenges from my college days, I felt this was a good chance to grow.
- Could you describe your professional aspirations for the next few years, including both short and long-term objectives?
