Creative
They offered me a lowball offer. I tried to negotiate, and they rescinded the offer. It's unfair to penalize good candidates for negotiating reasonably. If there's no flexibility, they should tell candidates upfront. I asked the hiring manager about the salary multiple times, but they never told me, saying the information was 'missing'.
- What makes you want this job?
Regional Manager
It was a round robin setup where I met with upper management folks. The interview was mostly behavioral and situational, and there was a lot of time to talk about my management style and my ideas on growing the business and how to help sales people succeed.
- What is your 90-day plan?
- How do you manage teams?
- What are your strategies for coaching sales reps to achieve success?
Account Manager
I had an initial interview with the sales manager, which went pretty well. Then, I had a follow-up interview with the district manager. During these interviews, they showed me around the building, and each one lasted about an hour. They said a decision would be made in a week. When I didn't hear back, I followed up and was told it would take another week. After more than a week passed, I followed up again but didn't get any response, and I never heard back about the position. It was really disappointing, especially after two long interviews that seemed to go well. I feel like not even sending an email is bad business practice.
- Can you share an instance where you had to use an unconventional approach to close a sale?
Director of Digital Strategy
I saw this role on LinkedIn and applied, but then got an email from the HR lead telling me to apply. So I did and emailed them back to let them know. Radio silence for five days, so I moved on.
