First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Olivet Nazarene University.
Planetarium Manager
The interview process was pretty simple. I had just one interview, and before the previous manager left, I learned a lot about the planetarium system. The interview focused on managing operators and customers.
- How would you handle an operator who is not responsible when it comes to presenting shows or operating the planetarium correctly?
Administrative Assistant
I applied online using the Olivet job portal and ended up following up with an email twice because I wasn't hearing back. About a month later, HR emailed me to set up an interview. It was only 30 minutes long, and they said I'd know if it was a yes or no by the same time the following week.
- What specifically about the job advertisement piqued your interest and made you decide to apply?
Resident Assistant
The interview process for this role was pretty involved. First, I had to fill out a lengthy application where I answered several questions about my previous experiences. After submitting it, I waited about two weeks before being invited back for a group interview. Following that, I had a meeting with all 10 of the male RDs to assess my suitability for the position.
- Can you describe any previous experiences you have leading or managing large groups of people?
Faculty Services Assistant
There will be multiple people in the room. Be professional but casual friendly. They want you to interact and reveal information. Be prepared for a moral contract that is required. Likely a two stage interview process with the hiring team and then an interaction and skill based with the team.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
