First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oliver Wyman.
Associate Consultant
There were 2 interviews. The first one was okay, but the second interviewer was quite aggressive and gave me a bad impression. They kept interrupting me and contradicting what they had said earlier, and their communication wasn't very clear. The first interviewer, however, was really friendly and offered some great feedback and helpful advice.
- Can you describe the process of rolling out 5G networks?
Strategy Consultant Intern
We start with a CV and cover letter review. Then, there's one fit interview + case study, with either a Senior Consultant or Manager, and part of it will be in English. After that, you'll have two more fit interviews + case studies. For one of these, you'll meet a Principal, and for the other, a Partner. One of those two interviews will be in English.
- Why are you interested in consulting?
Management Consultant
The interview was a case study. The interviewer was late by 15 minutes for the 30-minute interview and hadn't prepared the case. They provided very illogical information, insisting it was correct, which made the case very strange as it didn't make sense based on prior case experience. After the interview, when asked to explain the logic behind the given information, the interviewer denied ever providing it. It felt like they just wanted to finish the interview quickly.
