Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oliver James.
Consultant
The interview process was pretty simple and easygoing. First, there was a casual chat with HR, followed by a brief meeting with the hiring manager. The vibe was relaxed and the interviewers were nice. All in all, it was an uncomplicated process with no surprises.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What motivates you to join our company?
- Could you describe your key strengths and areas for improvement?
Senior Consultant
It was a pretty straightforward 3-step process. The in-office part was the most intense, but overall they were communicative. I got to chat with a few different teams, which was cool, though hiring decisions can be team-specific. The culture seems UK-heavy and mostly male leadership.
- What motivates you to apply for this position?
- Can you elaborate on your motivations for this role?
- What drives your interest in this opportunity?
Consultant
First interview was with a manager. Everyone was dressed up but not that smart. I wasn't particularly impressed with their team. It seems like how you come across mattered more than your knowledge. It's a fairly traditional-looking firm.
- Can you describe some challenging tasks you've handled in previous roles?
- What's your approach to a particular desk?
- How would you address the issues they're facing?
