I had a phone screener first, then a phone interview, and then I went to the office for an in person interview. Scheduling involved some emails and texting. I got the offer a few days after the interview.

Initial screening call with the Recruiter. They mentioned there was no budget when I asked about salary range. Then there was an in-person interview with the President and the new Controller. The Recruiter called again, stressing that the position is strictly on-site. Following that, I had a virtual interview with the Regional VP and Finance Manager. The Recruiter checked in once more, reiterating the on-site requirement. They mentioned this is a new role and that the salary is $120k. I counter-offered with my desired salary, which is higher than $120k. They scheduled one more virtual interview with the Controller to "ensure I'm the right fit". The Recruiter then called to collect references. After some days, I followed up. The Recruiter called back saying they couldn't reach one reference. Then they said they spoke with the decision-makers and decided to go in a different direction, stating they needed more of a business analyst. They wished me good luck.
- Regarding your organization skills, how do you label your files?
- Could you share an instance where you enhanced a process?
- Tell me about a time you improved a process.

So the interview process was pretty simple. I had two calls with the recruiter, and then I interviewed with the Hiring Manager for about an hour. They asked really specific questions about the role and what the team was looking for. All in all, I think there were about 3 interviews.
- Could you describe your responsibilities in your current position?
