I went through 3 stages: a phone screen and two video calls. The questions seemed pretty straightforward, nothing tricky. I didn't get an offer, but they did let me know they're moving ahead with someone else, though they didn't give me any specific feedback.

HR conducted a basic screening interview for the Business Analyst role. To be considered, candidates needed to possess core Business Analyst skills such as documentation, requirement gathering, and experience with tools like Jira and Agile methodologies. They also had to be located in the specified area and the company would not provide sponsorship.

The interview process began with a phone screen conducted by an HR representative, which had to be rescheduled on the day of the appointment because she was busy. The subsequent interview was an in-person meeting with the hiring manager for a Premium Audit position. I arrived early, about 20-25 minutes before the scheduled time, and waited in the lobby. However, about 45-50 minutes after my scheduled time, I was escorted to the interview room. The hiring manager seemed to misunderstand my punctuality, continuing to assume it was my fault for being late, despite my earlier arrival. The interview included a series of tests. Although I have over a decade of experience as a Premium Auditor and was confident in my expertise, the test was specifically designed to assess navigation within their proprietary system. While I am adept at learning new systems quickly, knowing the specifics of this particular company's system without prior training was impossible. I believe I could learn it quickly without additional training, but answering the questions on the spot during the interview was not feasible. The overall experience was quite intimidating, especially considering my extensive experience with a much larger insurance carrier.

First, the hiring manager contacted me. After the initial phone call, we scheduled an informal interview for two hours, one-on-one. The hiring manager did most of the talking, sharing recruiting packages and company financials. About a week later, I met with the county manager. He explained that Old Republic Title hires employees through a temp agency. The plan is to hire on for 3 months as a temp, with a straight salary, no benefits or commissions. It sounds okay, as it's a way for both sides to see if it's a good fit. But it's risky because I might not get hired permanently, or I could stay a temp for up to a year. The company culture is conservative, and employees seem happy, respecting and admiring management, according to my research. Current employees also mentioned the company values work-life balance. The company's website was a big help in preparing for the interview.
