Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Okta.
Product Manager
First, there was a recruiter screen, then I spoke with the hiring manager who is a Director. It was a standard behavioral interview. After that, I had an interview with a Group PM. There was a 10-day gap between rounds 2 and 3. This round was similar, but they didn't use the full time, which made me think they had already offered someone else the job.
- Tell me about a time...
Product Manager
The interview process for this role was a waste of time for both the hiring manager and the candidate because they offered a phone interview to international candidates without being able to provide sponsorship. It would have been better to state the inability to sponsor internationals in the job description directly to avoid wasting candidates' time.
- Will you require sponsorship now or in the future to work in the United States?
Product Manager
This was a great experience, super fast turnaround with responses under 24 hours at each step. Started with a phone interview and then moved to a full day onsite. It was a typical PM interview day, meeting with PMs and engineers. Everyone was really nice and respectful, but they definitely asked tough questions and made you think.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What are your thoughts on the industry's future?
