First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oklahoma Tax Commission.
Manager
There were two interviews, where they really sold us on the company culture. They like panel interviews, so you'll be talking to several people at once. They were generally friendly and answered questions truthfully and genuinely.
- What value would I add to this position?
Benefits Coordinator
I applied on Indeed and got a competency test after applying. HR called the next afternoon to set up the first interview. I interviewed with the Director of HR and the Recruiter, and they asked about my background and some basic stuff. They talked a lot about the agency's culture and the job. About 2-3 business days later, I got a call for a final interview with all the HR staff. Each person asked me 2-3 questions that seemed like general interview questions. It was all friendly, and I didn't feel nervous. I think I got the offer call from the director 2-3 business days after that.
- What motivated your move from the private sector to state government employment?
Public Information Officer
The interview process was like a panel with the OTC Deputy Directors. They asked me questions about my experience and transferable skills. It felt pretty comfortable and conversational right from the start. The whole thing took about two weeks. I got the job offer and was really happy to accept.
- Why did you decide to apply for this particular job at the Oklahoma Tax Commission?
Refund Specialist
I had a virtual interview and then an in-person one. I'm still in the process and waiting for the second interview. The first round had a lot of behavioral questions about how I handle situations and specifically how I deal with conflict with colleagues.
- How do you manage conflict with coworkers?
