First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oklahoma Health Care Authority.
Human Resources Coordinator
It was a two part interview process. The first interview was online with a panel of 3 executives, and lasted about 30-45 minutes. The second interview was in person with the hiring manager and also lasted 30-45 minutes.
- Can you tell me about your experience with onboarding and benefits administration?
Communications
It was a standard panel interview. HR sent an email and the interviewer said HR was the point person for questions. A week after the interview, I called HR about the position status and never got a reply or any word. Just wanted to say to respect applicants' time by doing a common business courtesy. They made the effort, so you can too. Surely your agency is not that understaffed. Surely you have some sort of procedure for letting applicants know if they are not under consideration for hiring. Please have some respect for the job hunter.
- Were there any questions outside of the norm?
Analyst
At OHCA, we use a panel interview approach. The first stage involves 2-4 interviewers. You'll typically get a few minutes to review the questions beforehand. If there's a second round, it'll be with a smaller group, possibly 1 or 2 people.
- Could you state OHCA's mission?
- What's your understanding of OHCA?
Administrative
I had a panel interview with the chiefs of several departments. They wanted to know my complete background and if I would be capable of answering phones. The position wasn't actually created yet, it was evolving and they weren't sure about the duties it would encompass. My background was quite extensive and they were afraid I'd get bored. They got a bit critical that the job might be beneath me, but I assured them I could answer a phone.
- Would you be alright with answering phones?
