So basically their recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn out of the blue about my resume and experience. I checked out the company and it seemed like a decent fit. We went back and forth trying to set up an initial interview time, but the recruiter kept missing the scheduled window. Instead of sending over something like a Calendly or an availability form, he just ghosted me. Oh, and even though I applied formally and suggested we switch to email, the recruiter insisted on keeping all communication within LinkedIn messages, which honestly felt a bit off. Super unprofessional and a big letdown, to say the least.

The interview process was pretty long, with a bunch of individual interviews over a few weeks before an on-site. The questions they asked were really open-ended, and they seemed to expect super detailed answers. I didn't get much feedback during the interviews. I found it pretty difficult because of all that.

The recruiter set up a virtual interview with the maintenance manager. It was a casual chat about the job and my qualifications. They asked about the plant and the company. They wanted to know about my qualifications and experience with controls and engineering.

I spoke with a recruiter in Chicago and let them know I was interested. After that, I was ghosted and the role has been posted again since late 2023. I also saw that there were quite a few higher-level positions open, which is definitely concerning given the poor communication I experienced.
