Applied online and heard back about 20 days later for a virtual interview. The first interview was 20 minutes. Instead of intros, they sent LinkedIn profiles of the interviewers. It was a very transactional interview with typical questions like challenges and proudest projects, but not much time to elaborate. The second interview was 8 days later, also virtual, and included a practical assessment project. The project was easy and strange, not a real work exercise. There were only 60 minutes for more questions, many repeated from the first interview, and to present the skill test results. Not much time again, but communication was cordial. I was a finalist and sent references, but they dropped me after not selecting me. They ended up hiring someone with much less experience.
- How do you make sure data reporting is accurate?
Assistant Coach
The department and search committee were great. It was a laid-back yet professional and thorough interview process. I got a very informative tour of the campus and athletic facilities. I was really impressed by how hands-on and engaged the athletic director was. After this interview, I knew I wanted to work at OWU.
- Can you share an experience dealing with unhappy players or parents off the field?
HR Director
The process was very smooth, well outlined, and well organized. The selection committee asked thoughtful questions. It was very clear and easy to understand the priorities of the position. Overall, it was a good experience.

There were 3 interview rounds. No technical questions were asked, but there were many behavioral questions. I interviewed with mid-level people from all over the University administration. The final interview was with a VP.
