First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ohio Virtual Academy.
School Administrator
It was a chill process, all done through email. First, I had a phone interview with some other school admin folks, and then a Zoom call with the previous school admin and the head of school.
- Tell me about how well you work with children.
Classroom Teacher
The interview process was straightforward, involving a single 30-minute Zoom call with the principal. I was extended a job offer during this meeting, which was the only interview I had.
- Tell me about your approach to teaching.
- How do you approach lesson planning?
- Describe your experience with virtual teaching.
Teacher
Had a phone call around the start of the school year. Then met for an interview at a coffee shop, and they gave me a contract that was pretty much set in stone.
- Are you able to be available from 9 AM to 5 PM on short notice?
Advisor
It was a great process. I'm really hoping they pick me for the position. It looks like it would be a good job for me and my family life in terms of work/life balance. I heard the benefits are really good!
- Can you describe a time you handled a problem and the outcome?
