First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oglethorpe University.
Teaching Assistant
I thought I did a good job, but it was annoying not to get the position. However, the interview process itself was easy, and the interviewer was pleasant.
- What is your motivation for seeking this role?
Assistant Coach
The interview process was easy. The people I met were really nice and accommodating. We both figured out what we wanted out of the interview and the job. They were upfront and honest about everything related to the job, and communication was excellent.
- Can you describe your coaching style and how you intend to apply it?
- How will you implement your coaching style?
Special Events Coordinator
I was able to email the contact that I had in the Communications Dept and from there my resume was forwarded on to the Special Events Manager. She called me to speak to me about the part time position, and invite me in for an interview. Once I met the manager, we spoke for about 20-30 minutes and then she invited me to attend the President's Reception that evening. I arrived and helped her out with various things that she needed. From there, I waited 3 or so days and then the manager gave me a call and offered me the position.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a particularly challenging customer service situation?
Student Engagement Coordinator
The interview process was straightforward with virtual interviews. However, the final interview felt rushed because the interviewer wasn't prepared. I didn't get any feedback and was ghosted even after following up. The interviewers lacked professionalism and preparation.
- Can you share an instance where you failed to uphold diversity and inclusion principles?
