First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ogilvy Health.
Medical Writer
The interview process involved an assessment day featuring a teamwork exercise, an individual exercise, and brief one-on-one interviews. The day also included opportunities for networking and learning more about the company and the programme. It was a well-organized day with a friendly atmosphere.
- How would you handle conflict or a difficult situation?
Art Director
Applied and 10 days later, HR sent an email about a 15-minute pre-screening call. This was a video chat where she asked basic questions about salary expectations, experience, and so on. A few hours after that, I got another email asking me to meet the rest of the team. In this second interview, I had a call with the CCO and 2 Creative Directors. They were nice and positive, but they did mention a few times that people there often have to work late to get projects done. They said they were looking to hire someone quickly and would decide that week. It's been several days and I haven't heard back, so I'm guessing I didn't get the job.
- How strong are you in creative conceptualization, meaning generating original ideas for projects from scratch?
Medical Director
I had two phone interviews before coming for in-person interviews. The first was with a VP in NYC, the second with the hiring manager, a senior medical director. They flew me in from out of state for the in-person interviews, covering all travel and accommodation. I met with six people on site, covering all levels of the company/account. One team member wasn't in the office, so I had a phone interview with her after. The process was thorough and professional. After two weeks, I asked about my status and was told they were still interviewing candidates. I never heard back.
- Would you be open to relocating for the job?
- Tell me about your experience related to this specific account.
Data Strategist
The recruiter reached out pretty quickly and I was followed up with an interview with the director on the account. The Director asked pretty simple standard questions but got wishy washy when I asked about the work/life balance. After my interview, they said they’d be in touch. Never received an email back on status or anything. It’s fine if they moved forward with another candidate but be professional and email interviewees back with status updates. I took time out of my schedule to interview, at least have the courtesy to follow up.
- Can you describe your experience with data?
- Have you previously managed a team?
