This was a super frustrating interview process, felt like a total waste of my time. The first chat with the recruiter, Meagan Dion, went great and we really dug into how my background, especially in SaaS TA, employer branding skills, and scaling teams in a startup, plus my Spanish, would be a perfect match. After that and doing a 2-hour assessment, I was invited to chat with the Chief People Officer, Erica Brown, like a week and a half later. She was really nice, and I was told I'd be meeting the senior leadership team the next week, but then Erica emailed me the very next day saying I was no longer being considered. The reason? They're looking for someone with R&D hiring experience. Which, if that was the case, why wasn't it in the job description or mentioned earlier? I was totally blindsided and bummed out, 'cause I was hitting all their other points and have the startup scaling experience with the "growth mindset" they wanted. Seems like they're chasing a unicorn and wasting everyone's time, there are plenty of qualified TA BPs ready to jump in and scale teams.

This was a pretty strange interview. The recruiter was totally impressed by my first call with her and asked me to do some maths assessment. I am a seasoned 15-year experience TA leader, but for them, this stupid assessment is the core to their interview process. Being a new mom who is still nursing, I requested a couple of days' time to complete it, and after completing it, I got a generic decline email. There can only be two reasons – I was not good with maths, although I have scaled 4 startups in my career, or their new head of HR discriminates against a new mom.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interview process was planned as a 6-step journey: first, a cognitive test, then an HR screening, followed by interviews with the Hiring Manager, the CMO, and a take-home task. The final step was an interview with the CPO, potentially leading to an offer. It felt a bit strange for a specialist role to involve so many C-suite members, but it was what it was. What was really unexpected though, was getting ghosted after reaching the halfway point of this long process. I honestly thought the company would have a better system to at least let candidates know if they weren't moving forward.

I found OfficeSpace via an outside recruiter. The interview process was really good! I immediately felt a connection with the people, the product, and the work I'd be doing. Everything was clear and moved at a good pace for me. The whole thing took about 2-3 weeks from start to offer. I met with several team members, including the CEO, CFO, and HR Manager. They were all ready and organized for each meeting. Each interview lasted at least an hour, which felt right for a good conversation, answering their questions, and asking mine. In one instance, an executive leader rescheduled another meeting to make sure my interview could finish when it ran late, which made me feel valued. Overall, a very positive experience!
