First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Odot.
Civil Engineer Intern
It was a behavioral interview, over zoom, where they looked at how I behaved in groups, my thought process, and other things. They used the STAR method. The people interviewing me were very nice.
- What makes you want to work for ODOT?
Highway Maintenance
The interview process was pretty easy and chill. The pay is low but expectations are way too high. But yet they would hire someones relative with zero experience. I met all requirements that were advertised but in reality they want it waay more skills and knowledge in certain areas.
- Are you a mechanic?
Technician
It was an average interview. I met with three people: the hiring manager, HR, and his manager. They asked standard questions. The whole thing took about 30 minutes. I discussed my relevant experience.
- Can you tell us about yourself and your current role?
Realty Specialist
It was a panel interview with four interviewers. They asked set questions and I got to ask questions at the end. They mentioned they might not make eye contact because they'd be taking notes. It felt pretty chill, and the people seemed nice.
- Questions about report preparation.
- How would you handle interactions with the public?
