Applied online and heard back from a recruiter. The recruiter was kinda rude from the jump and the whole process felt old-school. But I wanted to see what it was about, so I moved on to the next round with the Hiring Manager. He seemed super rushed, like he just wanted to get it done. To top it off, I got hit with a business process exercise during the interview without any heads-up. Nowadays, to make things better for candidates, ensure they're a good fit, and set them up for success, you really gotta tell people what the process is and how to prep!

I was contacted by a recruiter who thought I might be a good fit. The recruiter was great, but the interview with the hiring manager was tough. He spent 40 minutes grilling me about my background (which isn't sales-related). It felt like I had to justify my career and even my life in San Francisco, asking how I could afford to live here given my background. Despite my international experience and education, his main point was that I didn't have the *right background*, and I suspect it might have been because I'm a Latin woman. The whole experience felt off from the start, and I should have trusted my instincts.
