First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Odoo.
Business Advisor
First, a chat with HR about your motivation and background. Then, a 2-hour meeting with the team lead. This part was quite involved, with a prepared use case, a surprise use case, and a lot of questions covering personal, motivational, and role-specific topics.
- How do you convert a customer?

The entire interview process was quick, but the interviews themselves were quite lengthy. In total, I invested 3 hours across three separate interviews. This felt excessive, particularly for someone already employed full-time and working onsite. To add to this, I was given just two days to familiarize myself with five different applications. Despite dedicating time to study them thoroughly, none of the interview questions pertained to these specific applications. Instead, the focus was on topics that were relatively easy to grasp in a short period, which seemed rather pointless.
- Can you explain the difference between frontend and backend development?
- What is an ERP system?
- What are your reasons for choosing Odoo?

This was a really long interview process. First, there was a phone interview. Then, I had a 2-hour session where I had to look at graphs and explain my understanding. They also gave me a business scenario and I had to map out the whole chain, mentioning the departments and people involved. I had to quickly make a flowchart and then present it. They asked a ton of questions. Honestly, agreeing to a 2-hour interview was a mistake, especially with my current job. It was tough to find that time and make up an excuse. They said they'd let me know about next steps by the end of the week, but it took them 3 weeks to just say no. The next stage was supposed to be a technical interview at their office, another 2-hour session. I'm actually glad I didn't get that far, as I would have had to take time off work. If you think I'm complaining because I'm upset, you're right. I just don't want anyone else to go through that pointless 2-hour ordeal.
- Explain what you observed and understood from the graphs.
- Given a scenario, explain the entire business chain, including which departments and roles would be involved.
- Create a flowchart for the business chain scenario within 10 minutes and present it.
