Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Odoo.
Account Manager
The application process was straightforward on their website. After submitting my details, I got an email from HR to schedule an online interview. On the interview day, the HR person was very friendly and respectful. We talked about the job for about 30 minutes, asking and answering questions on various subjects. She said she'd get back to me with feedback within 2 days, and she did. Although the feedback was negative, I liked how friendly and structured the interview was. I didn't appreciate being rejected for lacking sufficient Sales and IT experience, especially since my CV clearly showed I wasn't from a typical Sales and IT background, so this was already known. It was a bit confusing why they invited me if they were looking for someone with a different profile. However, the whole recruitment process was smooth, positive, and respectful, so I'm not upset about the rejection and am keen to apply again for future roles at Odoo.
- Could you provide an overview of your educational background and previous work experiences?
- How would you approach managing customers in the UK, taking into account any cultural differences compared to customers in Belgium or other parts of the EU?
Account Manager
The interview process was alright. There were two rounds: one with the recruiter and another with the hiring manager. They asked a lot of behavioral questions and also had a part where I had to pitch and demo Odoo for a made-up company. It took about 2 weeks for the first and final interviews. After that, I was ghosted for a while and then got rejected 6 weeks later. It wasn't the greatest experience.
- What are your usual targets or KPIs, and how have you met them in the past?
- Describe how you would handle disagreements or conflicts with partners, particularly if they are not adhering to contractual terms.
Senior Account Manager
I had my initial conversation with HR, which lasted about 45 minutes. They went over my background and provided details about the role and the company. Following that, I participated in a 2-hour interview with the team that included a live case study.
- Could you start by introducing yourself?
- Can you explain the different functions within a company?
- What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
