First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ODK Media.
UI Designer
I had a direct interview with the UX design manager. It was a pretty insightful experience. The interview wasn't super hard, more like a cool chat where I could show off my skills and talk about how I do UX design. The manager asked some really good questions, which gave me a chance to go deep into my design process, how I solve problems, and what I've done before.

Advertising
I had an interview with JSL and another person. JSL, who is the co-founder of ODK, was very rude and condescending. His attitude projected negative energy, which was surprising given he represents the company. It was one of the worst interview experiences due to his offensive attitude, leaving a negative impression of ODK. He seemed inexperienced in handling interviews. Hopefully, he has matured since then, as this behavior from a company leader raises concerns about the work environment.

Content Operations Associate
I applied online and the next business day I got an interview with the hiring manager. This first interview was entirely in Chinese because the role is for Chinese content. The hiring manager's vibe made it seem like the company didn't have a solid future, just importing content from overseas and posting it. Honestly, I don't get why people would view content on their site instead of the original source. After talking to her, I felt I was overqualified since I have over 3 years of experience, but she stressed it's a junior role with mandatory overtime, including 6 hours every weekend. Surprisingly, a week later, I heard I made it to the next round: a "data test". Brace yourselves, this was the worst part. HR emailed me the "data test" with a 24-hour deadline, not even checking if I was free. I didn't see the email until the next day since it arrived late. The "data test" was just Excel data, asking me to "visualize" it. Hilariously, they sent two identical files, forcing me to confirm which was the real data, and then they apologized. Two days after sending it back, I got an automated email saying I passed to the next round.
