Odessa Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

Odessa came to our campus for hiring. The first step was an Online Test with basic aptitude questions and questions about Testing. Next, there was a face-to-face Technical interview where they asked about software testing concepts like Black box and White box Testing, Test Cases, and various testing techniques. They also touched on basic Accounting and Finance concepts such as Lease and Loan. After that, they looked at our CV and the projects we listed. The final round was an HR Interview.

It was the worst interview experience. They didn't seem to have a clear plan for the interview process. I took an online test at my university and passed, getting me to the second round. 100 students were selected and told to come to Delhi for the interview. The interviews started around 10 am. Some people were called in, but they actually started the second round for some before finishing the first round for others. Nobody knew what was going on. I got a call at 5 pm when some people were already in their third round. My first round involved questions on data structures, my projects, and databases. The second round was entirely focused on testing. The weirdest part was that they were rejecting candidates who had strong technical skills. A friend of mine was rejected with feedback stating he had good technical skills and academics, which is why he was rejected. Many others faced the same reason for rejection.

It was an in-campus drive at my college, and Odessa was participating. There were 4 selection rounds: an online test, followed by a group discussion, then a technical interview, and finally an HR interview. The online test lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes and included reasoning, aptitude, basic programming concepts like flowcharts, and English grammar. The technical round focused on DBMS topics such as normalization and keys (primary, foreign), my project, and some accounting questions about loans and leasing. It also covered data testing methods like functional, black box, and stress testing. The HR round unexpectedly turned into another technical session, with more questions on database queries (inner join, outer join), project details, company information (Odessa's business and products), some puzzles, and standard HR questions like 'tell me about yourself' and 'why Odessa'.
