Customer Service Representative
The interview process was pretty long, with about 5 interviews in total. It felt like they made me go over the same information repeatedly in every interview. The company itself is nice, but they really need to improve their interview process and how they give feedback. It's super frustrating to be told you know where you went wrong and to 'make yourself shine' in the next interview, only to repeat the same process again and again without knowing what you did wrong.
- Tell me why you are interested in working here.
Customer Support Specialist
The interview process was super smooth and quick! After I applied, I had a phone interview for about 15-20 minutes where I talked about my experience and skills and how they fit the job. The very next day, I was invited to an in-person assessment centre at their Brighton office. Everyone at Octopus was really friendly, making it a great experience. The assessment had three main parts: an interview, a group task, and an email task. The one-on-one interview was with two people who asked general and behavioural questions about customer service. The group task involved a few candidates figuring out the most important items for a hypothetical scenario, which seemed to test our decision-making skills. Finally, there was an email task where we had to write a follow-up email to a customer.
- Can you describe how you manage your time and stay organized to effectively handle your workload?
Customer Support Representative
It was a quick intro chat where we got to know each other. I talked about my extensive experience which lined up well with what they needed, and I showed I knew a lot about Octopus Energy and that I'm good with tech. They didn't even ask me about my skills or how I'd handle specific situations. It was super fast, and even though the interviewer seemed fine, I didn't move forward for no clear reason. Such a bummer and a waste of my time.
- Can you share details about your previous work history?
