Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Octagon.
Account Director
First, I had an initial call with HR. After that, I met with some members of the account team. They also gave me a writing assignment, which I had a week to complete. Finally, I presented the assignment back to the team.
- Could you describe your background in the sport, given this is a sport-specific role?
Account Director
The recruiter was great - informative, friendly, and super responsive to my questions via email. The whole process went by fast, taking about two weeks. I spoke with the hiring manager and a senior executive. It was a good interview experience, not like those stressful, drawn-out interviews with tons of people at other companies.
- What about this position appeals to you?
- Can you describe your management abilities?
Account Director
The interview process was pretty standard, but it did include a presentation for the final round. The rounds were pretty spaced out, and unfortunately, the role was put on hold.
- How would you manage situations with multiple deadlines at once?

Quoted word for word from Octagon interview reports.
“The hardest part was demonstrating that you fit culturally. There wasn't one specific question that was tough. You have two days of full interviews and need to stay engaged through every single one.”
